International Womens Day

Ón Tuesday 8th March 2011 the Cessnock Regional Art Gallery celebrated International Women's Day with a visit by artists from the Northern Territory.

Artists Kaye and Gladys Beasley from Epenarra Arts Centre in the remote Indigenous community of Wutunugurra (NT) visited the gallery and spoke about their life and work. They were joined by Liz Mullen, World Vision Project Officer, and Deboah Sims, c-owner of the exhibition. The artists showed a video of their country and the work they are doing at their art centre and discussed the work of other women artists in the current exhibition Strong Women, Strong Painting, Strong Culture.
