Past Exhibition: Dennis Baker Atelier
Friday, 10 December 2010 13:12
Dennis Baker has been a practicing artist for more than thirty years. During November 2010 the Cessnock Regional Art Gallery presented the first survey exhibition of his work in a public gallery.

Dennis has shown extensively in commercial galleries and through his own studio and gallery. His work has ranged from early explorations of the landscape genre, in a traditional yet fresh style that displays his skill as a draughtsman, through to contemporary semi-abstract works investigating the form of the city, like in his Emerald City series which are based on the port and harbour of Sydney. Later works reveal his love of travel particularly his long romance with Venice and Paris.
As part of the exhibition Dennis set up an replica installation of his studio that further reveals his method of working - a rare insight.
