Description
Harrie Fasher and Stephen James
Highly respected artist and teacher Stephen James was born in Cessnock and has had an exciting career including many solo exhibitions, awards and prizes, he now runs local arts hub, the Hunter Valley Arthouse in Branxton. Stephen's paintings and drawings are intuitive, they are rich in tone and colour, they seductively entice you to spend time with them and before long demand your contemplation. In this exhibition they address new and exciting themes in James work. Harrie Fasher is a recent graduate of the National Art School and has exhibited internationally while winning numerous awards and prizes. Fasher is represented by Maunsell Wickes at Barry Stern Galleries, Paddington. Her intimate connection to the horse empowers her sculptures and drawings as she fluidly negotiates mediums, genres and fantastical tales of reality and daydream. While Fasher's exploration of pitt ponies offers an insight into the mines of old, James 'Bloody Big truck' brings to our attention the modern day working horse.
We invite you, your friends and family to join the artists for a casual and informative insight into these artists, their works and lives. Saturday 3rd September, 4pm to 6pm.
