Our Place

‘Our Place', which runs until the 5th September, is an exhibition of prints, paintings and textiles by Jacqui White, Linda Greedy, Pamela Ireland and textile pieces by Pamela Fitzsimons, all of whom have lived in the Hunter Valley from Bow Wow Creek to Pokolbin, Cessnock to Singleton at some time. They each bring a unique vision of life in the valley to their works as well as the limits and possibilities of their chosen art medium. The colours and forms of the landscape are recurring themes. Pamela Fitzsimmons series of textile works feature natural dyes, layering and machine and hand stitching to convey the moods and to detail the rock formations of Bow Wow Creek. Linda Greedy and Pamela Ireland have used paint to describe tracts of bushland, water and open country in works that tend towards the abstract, while Jacqui White's prints feature more detailed observations of nature in birds, flowers and plants.  or website: www.crag.net.au.
